Each year, a new Lady Captain is appointed at the prestigious Wentworth Club — a name synonymous with British golfing excellence, heritage, and refined tradition. In recent years, Marc Oliver has had the honour of tailoring bespoke jackets for each of these distinguished women, blending contemporary craftsmanship with classic club style.
Honouring Leadership Through Craftsmanship
Our journey with Wentworth’s Lady Captains began in 2022 with the appointment of Sally Wingrove, followed by June Chase Gardener in 2023, Paula Okell in 2024, and Jane Noble, who will take her place in 2025. Each jacket is individually cut and constructed to represent not only the wearer, but the enduring spirit of the club and the unique role they play in it.

The jackets are made from Super 100’s wool, chosen for its soft handle, everyday resilience, and superb tailoring potential. Constructed with a Prunelle weave, the cloth offers structure and drape without rigidity — ideal for days that begin on the green and end with formal dinners.

Each jacket is finished with a set of custom-cast gold metal Wentworth buttons — ten in total — carrying the club’s iconic “W” insignia.
